Gratitude is something that’s very close to my heart and I discovered it many, many years ago.

Some time ago, I found that every event and every workshop I attended, the word gratitude was pulled in somewhere along the line, in some form, shape or other, so I decided to write in a journal each day about what I was grateful for.  When I first started, it was very simple and I used to make entries like ‘I’m grateful, I have food in the cupboard; I’m grateful for good health; I’m grateful that I have a roof over my head.  This continued for quite some time and then I decided to start my own gratitude group. 

I invited people to join me once a month where we would sit and discuss gratitude.  There were lots of thoughts and ideas about what’s behind gratitude and each month, everyone brings their own ideas and formations of gratitude.  To me, it’s actually been very positive.  I have learnt, and I’m sure that most of you already know this, that when you focus on what you want in life or what you haven’t got, you continue to get more of the same.  If you start to look at and be grateful for all that you already have in your life, all the people, places, everything that’s in your life, if you focus – and I mean really focus on it – then you draw more of the same to you.  So if you’re focusing on all the good things that are happening right now, you will only encourage more good things to come your way. 

The universe doesn’t distinguish between good or bad but when you say ‘I haven’t got…’ or ‘I want…’, that’s what it will hear (never say ‘I want…’ always say ‘thank you for…’) and then start acting as if you already have it. 

Gratitude is enormous, absolutely enormous.  As I’ve already said, I run a monthly gratitude meeting group but it’s invite only, so if anyone that’s reading this wants to be invited, please contact me and I’ll see what I can do.
